Privacy Policy

LAST UPDATED: July 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Fractional Patent Counsel ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit fractionalpatentcounsel.com (the "Site"), book a call, or communicate with us. It applies to the Site and to prospective-client communications. Once you become a client, the handling of your information is governed by our engagement letter and by the professional duties of confidentiality that apply to attorneys, which are considerably stricter than this policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to respond to inquiries, schedule and conduct calls, run conflict-of-interest checks before any engagement, provide and improve the Site, comply with legal and professional obligations, and protect against fraud and abuse. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate:

4. Cookies

The Site uses only the cookies necessary for it to function, and any set by embedded third-party services such as the scheduling tool. You can control cookies through your browser settings; the Site will work with cookies disabled.

5. Data retention

We retain prospective-client communications for as long as reasonably necessary to run conflict checks, comply with professional recordkeeping obligations, and resolve disputes. Technical logs are retained by our hosting providers on their standard schedules.

6. Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send highly sensitive technical disclosures through the Site's contact channels; we will establish secure channels with you before any confidential material is exchanged.

7. Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at the address below. Depending on where you live, including Colorado, California, and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have additional rights under applicable law. We will honor requests to the extent required, subject to our professional recordkeeping and conflict-checking obligations. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.

8. Children

The Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.

10. Contact

Questions about this policy or requests regarding your information can be sent to counsel@fractionalpatentcounsel.com.

A note on attorney-client relationships. Visiting this Site, booking a call, or sending us information does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not send confidential information until an engagement letter has been signed and we have confirmed in writing that we represent you.
